Graphic Design I covers desktop publishing and design/color basics. Microsoft Publisher 2007 is used extensively and students will learn all the features that this program has to offer. Students will also cover basic design principles. Students will reproduce assigned projects as well as construct and design their own creative works. Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to: · Demonstrate the ability to save and retrieve files, create directories and manage the computer desktop. · Demonstrate a working knowledge of Microsoft Publisher tools and menus. · Use computer hardware and Microsoft Publisher software to design documents including newsletters, brochures, business sets, resumes, tables, graphs and other publishing materials. · Learn the basic rules of graphic design and demonstrate their use using the Microsoft drawing program by producing and designing materials and printing them.
